## What it is

Vintique is point-of-sale and back-office software for antique malls — the
businesses that rent booths to independent dealers and ring up the resulting
sales at a shared register. Vintique replaces the spreadsheets, generic
registers, and brittle Access databases that most malls still use today, and
imports cleanly from the legacy systems they're often stuck on (SimpleConsign,
Ricochet, ConsignPro, Liberty, Quail).

## What Vintique is not

- **Not a payment processor.** Vintique is record-keeping software. You ring
  up sales in Vintique and charge the card on your existing payment terminal.
  Customer card numbers never touch Vintique.
- **Not generic retail POS retrofitted for antique malls.** Vintique's data
  model is booth-based consignment from the ground up — booth numbers,
  inventory numbers, per-vendor consignment rates, and per-line tax-exempt
  flags are first-class.

## How to get started

1. Visit the homepage and choose a plan on the pricing page.
2. Enter your email and mall name; verify your email from the link we send.
3. Pay through Stripe Checkout (no charge until day 31).
4. You'll receive sign-in details by email and land in your mall's dashboard
   in under a minute. The onboarding tour walks you through your first
   booth, sale, and cashier invite — or skip it and load sample data to see
   a fully populated mall first.
5. Bring your old data: open the importer, drop in a CSV from SimpleConsign,
   Ricochet, ConsignPro, Liberty, Quail, or any spreadsheet, preview every
   row, and commit (with one-click undo if anything looks off).

## Trust & security

- Each mall lives in a fully isolated tenant. Isolation is enforced both in
  the application layer (every query filtered by tenant) and as Postgres
  row-level security policies in the database itself, so a forgotten filter
  cannot silently leak rows between malls.
- Photo uploads and exports are stored under a per-mall prefix in object
  storage; cross-tenant reads are blocked by path enforcement.
- A regression test harness signs in as one tenant and tries to access
  another tenant's IDs on every authenticated route, expected to fail.
- Sessions are encrypted, httpOnly, SameSite=Strict, and CSRF-protected via
  the double-submit cookie pattern. Login is rate-limited.
- Subscription billing is handled by Stripe; Vintique never stores card
  data.
- Admins can export everything as a ZIP and schedule deletion with a 30-day
  grace window — your data is yours, always.
